据中国载人航天工程办公室消息，今天（7月4日），经过约7小时的出舱活动，神舟十二号航天员乘组密切协同，圆满完成出舱活动期间全部既定任务，航天员刘伯明，汤洪波安全返回天和核心舱，标志着我国空间站阶段航天员首次出舱活动取得圆满成功。航天员刘伯明、汤洪波返回天和核心舱时，聂海胜在舱门处迎接。聂海胜汤洪波紧紧拥抱；刘伯明则快速飘进舱内，开心挥手。聂海胜说：“一会儿给你们做好吃的，欢迎巡天归来！”

航天员刘伯明在出舱后便感叹道：“哇，这外面太漂亮了！”中国空间站航天员首次出舱活动，两名航天员出舱任务之一便是抬升全景相机A。航天员第一次的舱外活动，安装了延伸支架，这会极大改善全景相机A的视野，给大家带来更多的太空之美。In the video clip of Liu leaving the cabin, he exclaimed: "Wow, it's too beautiful out here."One of the astronauts' tasks is to install a lifting bracket for one of the extravehicular panoramic cameras, which was initially installed at a lower position on the robotic arm, with a limited vision.
At 12:09 p.m. Beijing time, Liu and Tang successfully lifted the panoramic camera.
此次出舱任务，航天员从里到外穿的都是专用航天服：先是出舱内衣，然后要套一层液冷服，再套上舱外的航天服。穿上航天服之后，还要进行大流量的冲洗及吸氧、排氮等过程。
值得一提的是，两位航天员出舱作业使用的是我国自主研制的“飞天”舱外航天服。新一代飞天舱外航天服无论是原材料、设计，还是确定实验方案、验证总结再改进，都是自主研发。据悉，这次舱外航天服从功能上相当于一个微型的载人航天器。它最上面的头盔面窗有四层，中间充氮隔热防结雾 。此外，舱外航天服拥有多层设计并且可以应对真空温差和辐射环境。与以往的出舱服更不同的是，此次的航天服背后还多了一面国旗。

出舱的两名航天员，一人要为机械臂安装上臂支架，包括脚限位器、工具台等，随后借助机械臂进行移动。另一名航天员借助舱壁上安装的扶手，爬行一段距离到作业点进行辅助工作，其间还要进行一次应急返回验证。中国航天员科研训练中心选训室主任王焰磊在接受采访时解释：“因为航天员在舱外做一些作业任务的时候一旦出现紧急情况，那么航天员必须要快速、紧急返回到气闸舱里边，然后用我们舱载的应急供氧来保证生命安全，所以也要做这方面的验证。”
